The effect of wavy or undulating lines could be imitated with rhythmic or metrical effects; that of careful shaping and ordering could be seen in both meter and diction, or in the choice of lively figures of speech; and the choice of topics in poetry aspiring to the Beautiful could be ennobling without being terrifying. In fact, landscape poems are often examples of the Beautiful in poetry.
