1.Mary Delany, from an enamel, possibly by the painter, Barber, whose career Mrs Delany was eager to promote.
2. 'Scarlet Geranium' (in Mrs Delany's index this reads 'Bloody Cranesbill'). Probably her first 'paper mosaick', worked on shiny black paper.
3.'Dianthus superbus, Feather'd Pink'. Numbered 22 on the back.
4.Detail of 'Passeflora Laurifolia' (see p. 72). the bloom includes 230 paper petals.
5.Mrs Delany's skill extended to knotting (or tatting) and this was acknowledged by George III by his gift to Mrs Delany of this gold knotting shuttle.
